USA Hockey Goaltender Alex Cavallini is this week’s Community Hero!
As a recent silver medalist at the 2022 Winter Olympics with Team USA Hockey, Alex Cavallini has made an enormous impact through her work with AFH over the last 3 years.
She is not only generous with her time but exudes energy and enthusiasm into every opportunity presented to her. Alex has made a lasting impression on our AFH Fit Program by creating video exercise content and by participating in consistent virtual visits to schools nationwide. She has inspired thousands of students to move their bodies and through her own personal story, Alex has motivated students to lead in sport, in the classroom and in their communities.
Alex has equally dedicated her time to our Hospital Heroes Program. From participating in virtual one one one visits at hospitals all over the country to reading a Christmas-themed story to bring joy during the holiday season, she continuously brings smiles to the faces of children who need it most.
This week, Alex is sharing her commitment to making the world a more inclusive place by signing on to the Spread the Word campaign in recognition of Disability Awareness Month.
“I pledge to spread kindness and enthusiasm by creating a positive and socially inclusive environment for all. I pledge to be a voice for those who may not feel they have one, and listen to those who do. I pledge to show respect and live a life full of love and compassion for others.”
