USA Softball Pitcher Monica Abbott is this week’s Community Hero!
We are thrilled to announce that USA Softball pitcher Monica Abbott is this week’s Community Hero! Monica has been a dedicated member of AFH for many years and has served as an integral piece of AFH Fit. She has not only helped to create content for the program but she has consistently visited with schools all over the country each and every month. She goes above and beyond with each visit and schools often share the impact she made on students during their leadership and physical activity exercises.
Monica has also created numerous videos for children’s hospital patients through our Hospital Heroes program and has participated in many of our campaigns that help show other athletes how to use their platform for good – just like Monica!
Monica also has her own scholarship fund, MA14, to help female student-athletes pay for college and hosts various softball camps to help spread the game she loves.
Monica is inspiring to athletes everywhere and is impressive on and off the field. Congratulations to her for being this week’s Community Hero!
