AFH University Celebrates Service at End of Year Awards in Baton Rouge

Athletes for Hope University hosted its inaugural end of year awards ceremony in Baton Rouge, LA. This event celebrated student athletes, coaches, and community partners for their commitment to service throughout the 2018-2019 school year.

According to AFH U Southern Player of the Year, Arabella Hall, “I am honored to have received the award. Serving my community has been instilled in me since I was a young girl and it holds a special place in my heart. The true award is knowing I’m making a difference in the lives of people in my community.

Community partner award recipients, Charlene Lauman of The Miracle League and Laura Cassidy of LA Key Academy discussed the positive impact student athletes have made at their organizations.

“It is an honor to be recognized among the most servant-hearted athletes in our area. The awards are a testament to the growth of our community over the past years. It’s awesome o see AFHU develop into the incredible family it is today. My teammates and I are extremely appreciative of all the love and support everyone involved with AFHU has shown us. Thank you for impacting our lives and allowing us to serve!” -Katie Kampen, LSU Volleyball
