We are so lucky to have many long-time staff members at Athletes for Hope. One of those is our Vice President, Chris Wyttenbach who has been with us 10 years. We sat down to talk with Chris about what he loves about working at the organization and where he sees opportunity in the future.
What did you do prior to AFH?
Prior to AFH, I was involved with a variety of non-profits, including the Big Brothers Big Sisters, the YMCA, and the Peace Corps.
What’s your favorite part of working at AFH?
My favorite part of working with AFH are the athlete members. Not only are AFH members the best at their respective sports, but they are also dedicated to a wide variety of social issues. They bring the same passion for their sport to their community involvement, and it’s inspiring to be a part of putting these passions into play.
What do you think makes AFH stand out?
I think the fact that AFH focuses on the causes that are most important to our athletes makes AFH stand out. There’s a flexibility embedded into AFH’s DNA that allows the organization to best serve our member athletes, while subsequently allowing our member athletes to make a significant impact in their community.
What excites you most about the future for AFH?
I think AFH’s future is bright! We have more dedicated athletes than ever, and we have great non-profit partners and funders that share our goals. I am excited to see what we can do together!
