Celebrate Giving Tuesday. Support Athletes for Hope.

Giving Tuesday is a world-wide day of giving that takes place every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year Giving Tuesday falls on November 27, 2018. We are kindly asking for your support of Athletes for Hope in our efforts to bring hope to communities throughout the world. There are two ways to donate this year – through Facebook bit.ly/AFHGivingTuesday2018 or on our website www.athletesforhope.org/donate.

Spurred by the example of our Founders such as Muhammad Ali, Mia Hamm, and Andre Agassi, AFH has created more than 2,000 connections between athletes and charities across many causes since our inception 12 years ago.

This year a generous AFH donor will match every dollar you donate to AFH (Up to $100,000) in the lead up to Giving Tuesday.

Whether you donate $5 or $500, every dollar helps AFH mobilize athletes in support of the following programs:

AFH FIT – Annually connects hundreds of athletes and teams to schools and after school programs all over the U.S. This program has impacted tens of thousands of children and encouraged them to become more physically active.

AFH University (AFH U) – Works with several thousand college athletes at universities throughout the U.S. to teach them invaluable tools through social impact workshops and connect them to impactful community service opportunities. In the 2017-18 school year, AFH U athletes volunteered with charities for more than 4,450 hours.

Starlight Hospital Connect – Connects athletes to hospitals throughout the U.S. in an effort to brighten the spirits of sick children. Gender Equality Initiative (GEI) – The GEI seeks to accelerate the pace of change and elevate awareness about the benefits of gender equality in Kenya and Tanzania by engaging both athlete and non-athlete influencers, who are now helping to lead conversations around many issues that fall under the umbrella of gender equality.

What is Giving Tuesday and How Can Athletes Participate?

The days following Thanksgiving are the highest grossing days for retail of the year. Everyone is trying to get the best deal on gifts for the holidays. There is Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and now Giving Tuesday – a day set aside for helping your favorite charity.
Giving Tuesday was created to promote charitable giving in the United States and is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Here is how you, as an athlete, can participate:

  • Donate
    Whether you donate $10 or $1000, your donation will go to help your favorite organization do good things in the world.
  • Buy all of your holiday purchases using AmazonSmile:
