DC Chapter Kicks Off!
So…what exactly are AFH Chapters? They were created when we saw the need for our expanding athlete network to connect across sport and background. Through these Chapters, athletes of all levels – professional! college! Olympic! Paralympic! – are able to join forces to help their communities and get to know one another through their shared desire to give back.
Last Saturday, that’s exactly what our DC Chapter did! US Track & Field Olympian Tiombé Hurd, members of the Howard Football team, Maryland Men’s Soccer alum Cody Albrecht and AFH CEO Jason Belinkie worked together on a sports equipment distribution project with Leveling the Playing Field to benefit Girls Global Academy. Some of the youth athletes from Girls Global joined in and got active along with the AFH Athletes.
