About Athletes for Arizona
Athletes for Hope and the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) have come together to create Athletes for Arizona (AFA), a new, focused initiative that unites the sports and philanthropy communities throughout the state. AFA aims to galvanize sports philanthropy statewide by connecting people and organizations that value the way sports enrich the community. The initiative is designed to support youth in underserved communities by delivering AFH programming like AFH Fit, Hospital Heroes and Whole Being Athlete with a focus on three main pillars:
- Education
- Mental and physical health
- Advocacy and equity
AFA will be comprised of an impressive and diverse group of individuals who share an interest in convening on a regular basis to learn new skills, discuss important societal issues, support the charitable initiatives of other athletes and charitable organizations associated with the ACF, and take action in their communities.

AFA and Mental Health
AFH is proud to share an Athletes for Arizona Mental Health panel series, featuring athletes and mental health industry leaders. Our panelists will discuss the importance of raising awareness, reflecting on their own stories and sharing resources to benefit the Arizona community.
AFA and Women’s History Month
During the month of March, AFH was proud to share virtual conversations in celebration of Women’s History Month. Hosted by AFH’s Joy Burke, these discussions highlighted female athletes and organizations in Arizona.
