Athletes for Hope (AFH) is seeking a Senior Manager to play a key role in implementing AFH’s digital marketing efforts across social media, web, and email platforms. Working closely with the Director of Partnerships and Digital Strategy, this individual will help bring AFH’s mission to life through compelling digital storytelling, strategic content execution and increasing brand awareness.

Position Description

General

  • Work closely with the Director of Partnerships and Digital Strategy on implementation of overall marketing strategy and internal communications
  • Correspond with AFH staff members on a daily basis to collect relevant content for website and social media channels
  • Support basic operational needs including note taking during meetings as requested, consolidation of internal communications, presentation creation and additional administrative requests related to marketing and branding efforts
  • Coordination with AFH designer and ensuring digital media best practices are met on a consistent basis

Social Media

  • Day-to-day management of AFH’s social media accounts across Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube (opportunity to launch organization’s TikTok account)
  • Create and execute social media content calendar in accordance with overall digital media strategy, implementing ongoing campaigns and programmatic initiatives
  • Follow and engage AFH athletes and community partners on social media via general community engagement
  • Set goals, monitor social trends and measure engagement metrics through analytics to inform content strategy and adjust tactics accordingly

Website

  • Create and publish content on the AFH Website integrating SEO best practices
  • Manage and update content regularly on the site
  • Communicate with developers and designers for coding issues/updates
  • Share website inquiries with staff on a weekly basis
  • Collaborate on SEO best practices and web design improvements that enhance user experience

Email Communication

  • Using MailChimp, create and disseminate mass emails (monthly AFH Newsletter, quarterly Athlete Memo) and work with program/development teams to share ad hoc email communications as needed (related to events, announcements, etc.)
  • Work with program leads on keeping CRM data updated and pull new contacts into email system

General Marketing & Communications

  • Ensure consistency of AFH branding and content sharing across AFH’s entire digital ecosystem
  • Creation of new pieces of content that highlight AFH athletes, programs and initiatives including editing long-form video content, thought-leadership pieces, event recaps, etc.
  • Create quarterly and annual goals that can be measured through analytics
  • Create in-depth monthly digital media metrics report and high-level weekly digital media report for internal purposes

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in a nonprofit, sports, or mission-driven environment
  • Strong content creation and copywriting skills. Sports content creator experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, content scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Later, Sprout), and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
  • Experience with website CMS platforms like WordPress
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Basic video editing skills
  • A self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit
  • Passion for sports and a belief in AFH’s mission to connect athletes to causes they care about
