Board Of Directors
The members of the AFH Board include:

Mark Levinstein, Chair - Partner with Williams & Connolly LLP, antitrust and business litigation attorney who has represented professional and Olympic athletes, teams, leagues, players associations, sponsors, licensees, sports organizations, and other business in the sports industry for more than twenty-five years. Mark has also taught antitrust and sports law as an adjunct law professor at various law schools since 1985, most recently Georgetown University Law Center, and is the co-author of a leading sports law casebook.

Lonnie Ali, dedicated advocate for children’s rights and Parkinson research. She served on the Board of Directors of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. She currently serves as Vice-Chair on the Operating Board of Directors at the Muhammad Ali Museum and Education Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Richard Elder, a Director (senior partner) and the leader of McKinsey & Company’s Washington D.C. Office, is also a leader in McKinsey’s Public Sector Practice, focusing on National Security strategy and organization issues. Prior to joining McKinsey, Richard was an officer in the United States Air Force, where he was responsible for leading the design of the world's largest satellite tracking telescope.

Don Fehr, Executive Director of the National Hockey League Players Association and former Executive Director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. For many years Don served as one of eight Public Sector Directors of the United States Olympic Committee. He is one of the all-time most successful advocates of athlete rights.

Gabe Feldman, a law professor at Tulane University law school who specializes in legal issues related to professional and Olympic sports, was formerly an attorney at Williams & Connolly, LLP where he represented athletes, the US National Soccer Team Players Association, and others in the sports industry.

Julie Foudy, sports broadcaster, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Olympic Silver Medalist, and two-time Women’s World Cup Champion as 14-year member of the US Women’s National Soccer Team. Julie has been a leading advocate of Title IX and women’s rights. Julie has served as the President of the Women’s Sports Foundation.

Allen Furst, Treasurer of Alonzo Mourning Charities, Inc., has served as a financial advisor to professional athletes for the past twenty years.

Rachel Godino, Olympic figure skater who served as the Chair of the United States Olympic Committee’s Athletes Advisory Council from 2001-2004.

Russ Granik, former Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of the National Basketball Association, Russ joined Galatioto Sports Partners as Vice Chairman in October 2006. He was a guiding force in helping to establish the National Basketball Association as the most popular sports league in the world. Russ also represented the league in a wide range of successful projects, including collective bargaining agreements, television contracts, and the formation of the Dream Team, which has represented the United States in the last four Summer Olympic Games. Russ is Chairman of the Board of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, where he has been a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee since 1984.

Ross Greenburg, former President of HBO Sports and Executive Producer of more than thirty films about professional and amateur sports and athletes. Ross has won more than 50 major television sports awards including many Peabody awards, Sports Emmy Awards, and CableACE Awards. Films have included Mantle, Nine Innings from Ground Zero, Miracle, 61*, Unitas, the When It Was a Game trilogy, Fists of Freedom: The Story of the ’68 Summer Games, The Journey of the African-American Athlete, and Arthur Ashe: Citizen of the World.

Gordon Gund, CEO of Gund Investment Corporation, current minority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, former owner of various NHL and NBA teams, former public sector director of the United States Olympic Committee, is the Founder and champion for the past 25 years of the Foundation Fighting Blindness and a member of the Boards of Directors of the Kellogg Company and Corning Incorporated.

John Langel, partner-in-charge of Ballard Spahr's Labor and Employment Group. Mr. Langel has represented athletes, coaches, general managers, broadcasters, universities, and others involved in the sports industry for the past thirty years, including the US Women’s National Soccer Team Players Association, the WUSA Players Association, NBA and NFL coaches and several college basketball coaches.

Dan Levy, athlete manager for the Wasserman Media Group (WMG), has been a pioneer in women's sports marketing, creating some of the most unique marketing opportunities and deals in his field. Prior to joining WMG, he helped propel Octagon and Bober Associates into the largest agencies devoted solely to the marketing of women's sports athletes, and assisted in the formation of the Mia Hamm Foundation. Joining WMG in 2006, Levy currently manages some of the world's most accomplished female athletes, including Sue Bird, Mia Hamm, and Maya Moore.

Michael Lynch, SVP, leads Visa’s global sponsorship management strategy and execution, including managing global programs in support of the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, FIFA World Cup and NFL. Over the last 14 years at Visa, Lynch has led Visa’s sponsorship marketing business to the pinnacle of the industry. In addition to the world’s biggest global properties, Visa’s US sponsorship portfolio includes some of the best properties in the business – USOC, NFL, NASCAR, Soccer United Marketing, Kentucky Derby, Broadway, and others. Lynch joined Visa in 1995, after serving as vice president of events for Radio City Music Hall Productions in New York City. Prior to joining Radio City, Lynch was vice president and general manager of ProServ Inc., a then-leading worldwide sports management and marketing firm representing more than 150 professional athletes and managing more than 150 events annually. Lynch also serves on the board of directors for Athletes for Hope and the advisory board of the World Congress of Sports. Lynch has a BBA from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA in Marketing from Cornell University and is also a CPA. He resides in San Mateo, California with his wife, Susan, and two daughters, McKenzie and Dylan.

Frank Marshall, one of the leading producers and directors of American film. Frank has produced or directed more than seventy feature films, including such major films as the three Raiders of the Lost Ark/Indiana Jones films, E.T., Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Gremlins, Goonies, The Color Purple, The Indian in the Cupboard, Poltergeist, The Sixth Sense, the Back to the Future trilogy, The Bourne Identity / Supremacy / Ultimatum, the Jurassic Park trilogy, Signs, Seabiscuit and Eight Below. In addition, Frank has produced films about professional and amateur sports (e.g., Olympic Glory). He is a former Vice President and public sector director of the United States Olympic Committee and a recipient of the prestigious Olympic Shield, awarded in 2005 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Olympic Movement in the United States.

Peter Roby, Athletic Director of Northeastern University. Peter is the former Director of Northeastern University’s Center for the Study of Sport in Society, one of the world’s leading social justice organizations that uses sport to create social change. Peter is also a former Reebok Director of US Sports Marketing, and before that coached basketball at a number of NCAA Division 1 schools, including six years as the Head Basketball Coach at Harvard University.

Gunlek Ruder, is the Regional Director for the West/Southwest region. He was most recently the President of Agassi Graf Holdings which provides business management services for Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf. In that role, he was responsible for direct investments, real estate development and financial management for the overall business including oversight of the Andre Agassi College Prep Academy as the Andre Agassi Foundation Finance Committee Chair. Prior to AGH, Gun worked for MBNA as a senior member of its internal strategy group developing financial products for consumers and small businesses. Before joining MBNA, Gun was a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company in the financial services and private equity industries in New York City and worked in Tokyo, Japan for Nippon Steel managing large infrastructure development projects globally. Gun holds an MBA from Stanford University, and is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University.

Bill Stapleton, Olympic swimmer, former Vice President of the United States Olympic Committee, former Chair of the USOC Athletes Advisory Council, is the President of Capitol Sports and Entertainment, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based integrated management and marketing firm that produces and promotes concerts, develops and manages brands, and represents and markets entertainers and athletes, including Lance Armstrong.

Greg Taylor is the President and Chief Executive Officer at the Foundation for Newark's Future and will bring along his extensive experience in both education grantmaking and community-level advocacy. Greg is the former vice president for programs at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this role there he provided leadership for the Youth and Education programming area. He also served on the executive team that provides overall direction and leadership for the Foundation. Previously he served as executive director and program manager at Community IMPACT! in Washington, D.C., where he directed organizational growth through partnerships with the public schools, federal government, and business.

Doug Ulman, In his role as the President and Chief Executive Officer of LIVESTRONG Doug is ultimately responsible for the strategic vision and direction of LIVESTRONG. Doug is a three-time cancer survivor and nationally recognized cancer advocate. After overcoming chondrosarcoma and malignant melanoma twice during his sophomore year in college, Doug and his family founded the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, a non-profit organization to provide support, education, and resources to young adults, their families and friends who are affected by cancer. Doug has received numerous awards for his leadership and community service. A frequent guest and contributor on national and local media programs, Doug has been featured on CNN, ABC News, NBC Nightly News, and in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post among many other outlets. Doug currently holds numerous civic and charitable board positions across the country. He has participated in many marathons, including a 100-mile marathon in the Himalayan Mountains, the New York City and Boston marathons.
