Position Overview:
Athletes for Hope (AFH) is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven CHAMPS Program Coordinator to support the implementation and growth of the CHAMPS wellness program nationwide. This position will report to AFH’s CHAMPS Program Manager and will assist with day-to-day program operations, partner coordination, athlete engagement, and impact measurement to ensure the successful delivery of CHAMPS programming across schools and nonprofit partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about youth development, wellness, and the power of sport to create positive social change.
About CHAMPS:
The CHAMPS program is a wellness program offered to youth in grades 2 through 5 in underserved schools across the country. Each lesson, led by a professional, Olympic, Paralympic or collegiate athlete, focuses on a “Word of the Month” (Courage, Honesty, Accountability, Mindfulness, Positivity and Strength) that helps youth improve their mental health, physical health, and leadership skills. CHAMPS currently reaches more than 1,000 schools nationwide, positively impacting more than 300,000 students on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities
– In collaboration with CHAMPS program manager, help to oversee day-to-day operations of the CHAMPS program across participating schools and nonprofit partners.
– Support the recruitment and onboarding of schools, districts, and organizations into the CHAMPS program.
– Manage the distribution of program materials and coordinate both virtual and in-person CHAMPS events and visits.
– Build and maintain relationships with professional, Olympic, Paralympic and college athletes who work with the CHAMPS program
– Support key CHAMPS partners through a variety of activations and initiatives
– Implement measurement and evaluation strategies to track program outcomes and social impact.
– Monitor CHAMPS performance to ensure compliance with grant and funding requirements.
– Develop reports, surveys, and evaluation tools to inform stakeholders and support internal and external communications.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
-3+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector, sports industry, or a related field
-General knowledge of sports philanthropy and athlete advocacy
-Familiarity with professional and college sports
-Experience working with schools, school districts, or youth-serving organizations
-Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
-Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment
-Previous experience as an elite athlete is a plus
Employment Details:
The CHAMPS Program Coordinator is a remote, full-time position that will consist of a 40 hour work week. Position may involve periodic travel to various CHAMPS sites and events throughout the U.S. Base salary will be $50,000 + benefits, which includes a 401k plan with a company match, and health insurance (if necessary).
