Athlete Manager

Summary and Application Instructions

AFH is seeking an AFH Athlete Manager who is passionate about the intersection of sports and philanthropy. The AFH Athlete Manager will join the Athlete Engagement Team and play an integral role in bringing the core mission of Athletes for Hope to life. Through every step of the Athletes for Hope process – educate, connect, recognize – the manager will implement strategies that help athletes maximize their passions and platforms in order to positively impact the social causes important to them. Ideal candidates will possess non-profit experience and a strong connection to sports.

Job Responsibilities

General

  • Work with the Athlete Engagement Team to grow AFH’s social impact
  • Develop new charitable opportunities, campaigns and initiatives for AFH athletes
  • Manage and grow established AFH programs with schools and charities

Athlete Communication

  • Play an integral role in developing lasting relationships between AFH athletes and AFH
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person charitable opportunities and/or events for AFH athletes 
  • Identify new groups of professional athletes for AFH to work with on a consistent basis

Non-Profit Partnerships

  • Initiate and sustain relationships with a wide variety of charitable organizations
  • Vet non-profit partners for participation in AFH programs, campaigns and initiatives 
  • Maintain and update the AFH database, including AFH members and charitable partners

Measurement & Evaluation

  • Execute measurement and evaluation plan in accordance with AFH social impact strategy 
  • Develop survey tools, and create organizational and programmatic reports for key stack holders
  • Assist in sharing data with the AFH Marketing & Communications team as a means to highlight the work of AFH and AFH Athletes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing general knowledge of the sports philanthropy and advocacy landscape
  • Familiarity of professional, collegiate, Olympic and Paralympic sports
  • Knowledge of the non-profit industry
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • 3-5 years of non-profit or sports industry experience

Employment Details

This position is based remotely and will consist of a 40-hour per week commitment. The position will require frequent communication with the AFH staff and minimal travel, as able. Base salary will be $50,000 + benefits, which includes a 401k plan with a company match, and health insurance (if necessary).
