The Washington Freedom head back to prom!

The day before a big-game with the Chicago Red Stars at RFK stadium, the Washington Freedom took part in a rather unusual pre-game activity: prom. Collaborating with the Washington D.C. Children’s Hospital, the Freedom attended “The Night of Magic,” an annual event for kids that provides patients the opportunity to forget about medical ailments and simply have fun. During the course of the evening, the Freedom participated in arts and crafts, took pictures, signed autographs, and danced with the kids. For the young people who were unable to join the party, several Freedom players visited the kids in their respective hospital rooms, where they talked about their favorite sports and received signed Freedom soccer balls. In all, the kids and the Freedom had a wonderful time and look forward to next year’s prom!
