Sue Weber Works with Girls Inc. to Pass on an Important MessageLong Island, NY- Boston Breaker Defender Sue Weber took a break from her off-season training to spend the afternoon with the girls from Girls Inc. of Long Island. Together with a staff member from the organization, Sue presented a Money Talks workshop to the girls and their moms. This is a special initiative designed by Girls Inc. to help these young females better understand money. The workshop teaches how to save and spend money wisely using fun, hands-on activities. Participants come out of the program with an understanding of important economic concepts including the difference between needs and wants, credit card management, and basic investment concepts. Sue especially appreciated the opportunity to participate in this event because not only did it give her the chance to pass on her knowledge of such an important concept to young women, but also because she raised nearly $2,500 for Girls Inc. of Long Island in the Who Gives? Racing for a Cause Campaign. Sue, an Academic All-American while at Hofstra, has now participated in many aspects of Girls Inc. programming, both at the Long Island and in Lynn, MA branches. She looks forward to continuing her involvement with this great organization. More about Girls Inc.
