Steve Blake

BIOGRAPHY

Steve Blake was born in Hollywood, Florida and grew up with three older sisters. A member of the National Honor Society, Steve was the number four student in his class at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. He went on to play point guard at the University of Maryland , where he majored in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Selected by the Washington Wizards in the 2003 NBA Draft, Blake currently plays for the Portland Trailblazers.

Athletic Achievements
  • First ACC player to have 1,000 points, 800 assists, 400 rebounds and 200 steals throughout his college career
  • Maryland’s all-time assist leader, with 972 (the fifth highest total in NCAA history)
  • 2003 First team All-ACC
  • 2002 NCAA National Championship
  • 2001 NCAA Final Four
  • Led Oak Hill Academy to a 31-0 record in 1999, as the team was named the High School national champion by USA Today, ESPN and the Associated Press
  • 1999 USA Today All-America Honorable Mention
