BIOGRAPHY

Shawn Kuykendall is an American soccer player who last played for the New York Red Bulls. After a successful high school career at Madison High School, Shawn joined American University and continued his career as a midfielder. After completing college in February 2005, he was drafted by D.C. United in the 4th round (48th overall) of the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft. He played his first game with them on July 15, 2005. In 2006 he was traded to Red Bull New York with his teammate Dema Kovalenko from D.C. United.

Shawn now coaches the American University Men’s Soccer team. He also runs Kuykendall Academy which provides personal training for youth soccer players at any age and skill level. Focusing on full-player development, KA strives to help each player realize his or her potential.
