December 14, 2007 - Seth Stammler and Sporting Chance Foundation hosts fundraiser in Columbus, OHSporting Chance Foundation hosted its first fundraiser in Columbus, OH, on December 14th at Spice Bar and Restaurant 194 N. Park St. Included in the night's festivities were a slideshow from various trips to Haiti (courtesy of Dawn Leikness and Gwynne Beatty), an MLS Jersey Raffle and a silent auction. Music for the evening was provided by D.J. Quantum, compliments of Red Bull the energy drink. Attendee, Seth Stampler is a part of the Athletes for Hope network of athletes who are committed to social change within their communities. Included in the night’s silent auction were signed jerseys by the Columbus Crew and New York Red Bulls. Athletes for Hope also donated a jersey from the 2006 United States Men's National Team, (2006 World Cup Team) for the auction. In addition, Ricart Automotive donated for auction, 4 Seats to the Concert of the Winners Choice in the Owner’s Box at PromoWest. The night's Jersey Raffle included signed jerseys by New England Revolution, Kansas City Wizards, and F.C. Dallas. Admission was $40.00 a person with $20.00 being a tax-deductible donation to Sporting Chance Foundation. This included open bar for the evening, heavy appetizers, and raffle tickets for the above listed jerseys. Raising thousands of dollars to use in Haiti by providing educational scholarships and building community water wells, Sporting Chance Foundation would like to thank all of the attendees for coming, and helping to make a difference in many Haitians lives Sporting Chance Foundation previously hosted its first fundraiser in New York City at the Town Tavern on October 5th, and was invited to participate in Monaghan’s 25th Anniversary in Tom’s River, NJ on October 20th. A portion of the evening’s proceeds were generously donated to Sporting Chance Foundation by Monaghan’s owner and the night’s host, Donny Sanders. About Sporting Chance Foundation Sporting Chance Foundation was founded in 2007 by Seth Stammler of the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. Seth was inspired to start Sporting Chance Foundation after a philanthropic trip to Haiti in November of 2006, where he was able to witness and experience the unfortunate environment that is Haiti today.
