USATF Discus Thrower Rachel Longfors Gives Back to the Fargo Community on MLK Day
Fargo, ND- On MLK Day, Rachel Longfors-one of the USA’s top discus throwers and a track coach at North Dakota State University, visited the youth at the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley. Rachel spent time getting to know the kids and telling them about her track and field experiences. Rachel and the youth then honored the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. by giving back to their community. Together, they made cards for soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and local recipients of meals from Meals on Wheels.

Rachel, a new AFH member, was one of thirty-five AFH athletes who gave their time on MLK Day. She really enjoyed her time spent with the youth at the Boys and Girls Club and looks forward to helping with more events in the near future.
