BIOGRAPHY

Born Nancy Jean Meendering in Sioux Center, Iowa on November 12, 1978.

Finished career in Nebraska history third for career kills (1,603), third for attacks (3,741), ninth for block assists (376), and 10th with total blocks (412). Big 12 Player of the Year in 2001.

Nancy was selected as the 2009 USA Volleyball Indoor Female Player of the Year. Metcalf earned the Best Spiker award at the NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship after contributing a team-best 3.52 kills per set. She helped the U.S. to the silver medal at the Final Four Intercontinental Cup, as she finished with a 2.63 scoring average per set. During the premier FIVB World Grand Prix, Metcalf charted 4.25 points per set and converted 37 percent of her attacks into points. She also served as the team captain during two of the three preliminary round weekends.

Metcalf helped the U.S. qualify for the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix with the team’s fourth-place finish at the Women’s Pan American Cup held June 26-July 4 in Miami. She started six of seven matches during the tournament and provided averages of 3.75 kills, 0.65 blocks, 1.60 digs and 0.25 aces per set.
