Marisa Abegg

BIOGRAPHY

Marisa Abegg, defender for the Washington Freedom graduated from Stanford University where she started all 90 games. She has received many accolades for her athletic ability, and is credited to leading the Cardinals to a NCAA College Cup Semi-Final. During her time at Stanford, she was named a MAC Hermann Trophy semi-finalist, First Team All Pac- 10, Top Drawer Soccer First Team and the 2008 Soccer America First Team MVP, among others.

She was a member of the U-20 US Women’s National Team pool in 2006, and competed in the FutBol Internacional Tournament with U-21 Women’s National team.

In the summer of 2008 Marisa made the U-23 National Team and went on to win the Nordic Cup.

Marisa was born in Anchorage, Alaska and graduated with a degree in Human Biology. She hopes to one day be a pediatrician.
