Leilani Munter
BIOGRAPHY
Leilani Munter was born on February 18, 1976 in Rochester, Minnesota. She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California San Diego. Munter started racing in 2001, and in 2007 became the fourth woman in history to race in the Indy Pro Series, the developmental league of IndyCar. She has been named one of the top ten female race car drivers in the world by Sports Illustrated. Munter is an eco activist, and purchases an acre of rainforest for every race she runs. In 2008 she became an ambassador for the National Wildlife Federation. She also is an accomplished public speaker and writer, contributing to the green section of the Huffington Post.
