Olympic Champion, Mitzi Kremer, partners with The Children’s Home to serve Tampa Bay’s youth

During her swimming career, Tampa Bay native and Olympic Swimming Champion, Mitzi Kremer succeeded almost every time she entered the pool. On April 25th, 2009, Mitzi continued this trend by helping place 50 young people on the path to success. Joined by several members of her YMCA youth swimming club, Mitzi visited The Children’s Home and spoke to a group of young people about winning an Olympic medal in swimming, the importance of hard work and dedication, and the need for giving back to one’s community. After her talk Mitzi and her club members jumped into the pool and facilitated a swimming clinic for The Children’s Home members.

The experience was such a positive for both Mitzi and The Children’s Home that have already started planning their next visit. Next time, the kids from The Children’s Home will visit Mitzi and her swimming club at the Tampa YMCA!
