BIOGRAPHY

Kate Markgraf was born in 1976 in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Kate received a degree in Science and Business from the University of Notre Dame. She joined the US national team in 1998 as a defender. She has been a key part of the team since then and was named captain in 2008. In 2003 she married soccer player Chris Markgraf and in 2006 the couple welcomed their first child, Keegan. Kate was selected by the Chicago Red Stars of the WPS. She will sit out the inaugural season however, because she is expecting her second child.
