BIOGRAPHY

Julie Isphording ran the first ever women’s Olympic Marathon in 1984 in Los Angeles and is the winner of several marathons including the Los Angeles Marathon, Columbus Marathon and others.

Currently, she’s an award-winning syndicated radio host, national speaker and columnist. She has written three books, including the bestselling--Get Healthy. Get Happy: How to Make Small Changes That Give You Big Results.

Professionally, Julie is a leadership and training consultant for P & G and The Barrett Cancer Center, and speaks nationally to many Fortune 500 companies. She is an avid volunteer, an executive mentor at Xavier University, and perhaps her greatest joy is speaking in the schools to children from 8-18!.

As health advocate, she is the director of the Thanksgiving Day 10k Run/Walk where she knows that 17,000 people are healthy and happy. And just for fun, she still runs every morning and teaches Pilates to hundreds of adults.

Julie has appeared in many publications--- New York Times, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, and the LA Times-- and has won many marathons, and received several awards including the Girl Scouts’ Woman of Distinction, Xavier University Sports Hall of Fame, Healthcare Hero Award, Business Leaders Under Forty, Women Sports Foundation Spirit of Sport, Leading Women, and Ursuline Women of the Year.

  • First American woman finisher in the Boston Marathon (1986)
  • Winner of the Columbus Marathon in both 1988 & 1989
  • Fifth at the 1982 New York City Marathon
