McDonald’s Academic Excellence Award Gold Medal Scholarship Winners Announced
June 2008 – East St. Louis, IL

The McDonald's Academic Excellence Award is a one- time $2,500 Scholarship given to two African American high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better who are members or involved with or willing to volunteer 20 hours at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Boys & Girls Club. The 2008 Gold Medal Scholarship winners are:

Yashure Tucker
A Graduate from Altoff High School with a GPA of 3.0. Yashure plans to attend Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL.

Sean Scott
A Graduate from East Saint Louis Senior High School with a GPA of 4.8. Sean plans to attend Jackson State University.
