Former Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center Club Member and East St. Louis, Illinois native Dawn Harper ran a personal best (12.54) in the 100 meter hurdles on her way to winning a gold medal in her 1st Olympic appearance in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China. "I couldn't believe I was holding the flag and getting a medal. It was amazing." Harper said after her performance. The East St. Louis Sr. High and UCLA alum is also a graduate of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center Winning In Life Motivational Program. CONGRATULATIONS DAWN!
