The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation Teams up with Schnucks and Six Flags St. Louis for the Frightfully Fun Kid’s Run/Walk

On October 18th, youth from Metro East will take part in the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Frightfully Fun Kid’s Run/Walk at Six Flags St. Louis. Local youth, 6-18 years of age, will participate in either a 1.5 mile or 3 mile run/walk through Six Flags St. Louis. Schnucks will be providing medallions to all participants who cross the finish line and a brief presentation by Jackie Joyner-Kersee will follow. Schnucks and The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation have held the walk/run for the past 7 years, this is the second year the event will be held at Six Flags.

This event is held to raise funds for the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation and to promote the Families in Training Program (F.I.T.). This exciting physical conditioning program, for 6-18 year olds and their families, emphasizes the importance of combining a healthy, balanced diet with proper exercise daily. The F.I.T. program is a cooperative effort between Schnucks and The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation in an initiative to challenge families to do more for their health.
