Make Your Own Superhero with Jeff Green

Make Your Own Superhero with Jeff Green
The DC Public Library hosted the "Make Your Own Superhero - Comic Book Character Drawing Workshop" at Southeast Library on Friday, July 22th, 2011. Jeff Green, forward for the Boston Celtics was in attendance in addition to around thirty children ages 6-12. The participants created their own superhero characters with secret and public identities, costumes, and missions.

Jeff spent about an hour helping the children with idea generation and development of the artwork. He spoke to most of the children individually while creating his own superhero. At the end, Jeff spoke to the children about the meaning of being a hero. He also took time to take pictures and sign autographs for everyone involved.

The District of Columbia Public Library is a vibrant center of activity for residents and visitors in the nation’s capital. The library provides environments that invite reading, learning and community discussion and equips people to learn all their lives, to embrace diversity and to build a thriving city. We are proud to be a recognized force in the community for engaging the mind, expanding opportunities and elevating the quality of life.

This was the third and final stop in Jeff’s tour of charitable opportunities. He had this to say about his experience:

“I have really enjoyed my time with all the charities the past few weeks. The kids at the DC library were great! Reading is important, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of this event.”
