Jeff Green Visits Children’s National Medical CenterJeff Green of the Boston Celtics continued his tour of DC charities last week with a visit to the Children’s National Medical Center. The visit included an information session and a tour of the campus to better demonstrate to Jeff the impact he was having on the children and the community. Jeff stopped in with close to 20 different children between the ages of 5 and 20. He spent time visiting with the children in their rooms and then signed autographs for each. Children’s National Medical Center is the only exclusive provider of pediatric care in the metropolitan Washington area and is the only freestanding children’s hospital between Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Norfolk, and Atlanta. Serving the nation’s children for 140 years, Children’s National is a proven leader in the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury. Children’s internationally recognized team of pediatric healthcare professionals care for more than 360,000 patients each year who come from throughout the region, nation and world. Serving as an advocate for all children, Children’s is the largest non-governmental provider of pediatric care in the District of Columbia, providing more than $50 million in uncompensated care. Jeff who grew up in Hyattsville, Maryland wanted to give back to those less fortunate in the Washington DC Metro Area. “I used to drive by all the time. I’m glad I finally got the opportunity to spend time with some of the kids. We had a great time! I am happy to be here.” |
