Hope Solo Helps Right to Play in Uganda With a Large Donation of Soccer Equipment
US Women's National Team goalie Hope Solo donated over 2,200 pieces of soccer related equipment to women and girls throughout Uganda. All of the items went to participants of Right to Play's sports development programs in the African Country. Hope's donation included shirts, shorts, jackets, socks, training apparel, and goalie jerseys.

Right to Play dispersed the items to six different sites in Uganda on March 8th, as part of International Women's Day. Women's Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Right to Play identified Uganda as a very appropriate place for Hope's donation, as over 50% of their participants there are women or children.

The donation came as a result of Athletes for Hope connecting the soccer star to Right to Play after her sponsor, Nike, supplied the equipment. Hope appreciated working with Right to Play, calling it the "perfect fit" to receive the soccer equipment. Hope was very excited about the donation being dispersed in Uganda and the benefits it could provide to all of the children who received the Nike gear.
