Heather Bowie Young

BIOGRAPHY

Heather Bowie Young was born on March 23, 1975 in Washington, D.C. She started playing golf at the age of 11 and has had a great career since. Young attended Arizona State University as well as the University of Texas, and graduated in 1997 with a degree in finance. She turned professional in 1997, and in 1998 totaled two top-10 finishes on the Futures Tour in 14 events. In 2003 Young became only the third “rookie” in U.S. Team history to earn a captain’s pick. In 2009 her best finish was a tie for 12th at the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta Presented by Nextel.

Athletic Achievements
  • In 2007 Heather recorded season-best tie for seventh at the Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA and carded a season low 67 in the opening round of the CN Canadian Women’s Open, where she tied for 18th.
  • In 2006, she recorded best finish at the Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open, where she tied for ninth; carded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the first round of the Evian Masters.
  • In 2005, became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger
  • In 2004, best finish of the season came at the Weetabix Women’s British Open, where she placed third and tied her career-low 65 in the third round.li>
