Olympian Gary Morgan Spends MLK Day with Homeless ChildrenPhoenix, AZ- Olympic Race Walker Gary Morgan spent MLK Day working with youth from The Save the Family Foundation. Gary participated in the foundation’s weekly reading session, a program that links adult tutors with children experiencing homelessness. He kicked off the session by speaking to the group about his experience as an Olympian and an Olympic Torch carrier. Gary also passed his passion by speaking about the importance of the MLK Day of Service. Following the talk, Gary worked with children to improve their reading skills. Gary, a new Athletes for Hope member, was one of thirty-five athletes to give back to their communities on MLK Day. Despite Gary being in Phoenix and away from home, he knew the importance of giving back on this day of service. He had a great time working with the youth from The Save the Family Foundation.
