August 2008 - Garrett Olson of the Baltimore Orioles and AFH Founder Cal Ripken Jr. Partner with the Kauffman Foundation's Sports Bytes Challenge

The Kauffman Foundation launched the Sports Bytes initiative aimed at using sports to teach math and science skills to youth. Sports-themed lessons can be downloaded to any cellular phone, and with cell phones now the most utilized form of electronic communication in the world; the program has the potential to impact millions. AFH helped Kauffman to team up with Garrett Olson, LHP for the Baltimore Orioles as well as AFH Founder Cal Ripken Jr., to encourage kids at local minor league baseball stadiums to access the sports lesson modules. Downloadable images of Garrett and Cal will be used as rewards for participating in the program. Garrett also signed baseballs that will be distributed as prizes at stadiums throughout the season.
