London Fletcher & The DC Public LibraryA day-off for London Fletcher is not like most peoples’ day off. On Tuesday, Fletcher, the starting linebacker for the Washington Redskins, took part in the ceremonial opening of “Teen Space” – a new facility within the Martin Luther King Library that gives teens a place to receive homework help, listen to music, and have access to new Mac computers. To kick-off the event, Fletcher addressed the crowd and spoke about the importance of such a facility to the DC community – a community that Fletcher is actively serving through his own organization, London’s Brigade. It wasn’t all handshakes and speeches for Fletcher, though. He also participated in a Wii tournament with the head librarian for the DC Public Library System, Ginnie Cooper, and showed the teens his mentoring program network on one of the new Mac computers. London Fletcher and his foundation do great work in Washington D.C., so stay tuned for more to come!
