Chase Headley

BIOGRAPHY

Chase Jordan Headley was born on May 9, 1984 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduating as valedictorian from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in 2002, he went on to play shortstop for the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and then third base for the University of Tennessee. Headley was named the 2004 Most Valuable Player. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the second round of the First-Year Player Draft in June 2005. In 2007 Headley was named Texas League Player of the Year and was called up for eight games from AA San Antonio, making his major league debut against the Chicago Cubs. Headley is known for his mental “makeup” and intensity.
