April 19, 2008 - Cat Whitehill joins the Annual SPCA Dog Walk in Raleigh, NC
On Saturday, April 19, 2,000 people and 830 dogs marched through the streets of Raleigh to help save the lives of homeless animals.

The 9th annual SPCA K9-3K set records as the biggest and most successful dog walk in SPCA history and Raleigh city history. Never have so many dogs walked in the streets in the capital city!

The SPCA of Wake County would like to thank Cat Whitehill, her husband Robert and rescued dog Izzy for lending celebrity and excitement to this year's event. Cat delivered a heartfelt testimony to the cause of helping homeless pets while on stage at the event and she wrote a moving piece posted on the SPCA web site prior to the event.

Cat's efforts helped the SPCA raise $131,000 (more than three times the total from the previous year!) that will go directly to saving the lives of thousands of animals that have been abandoned, neglected and abused!

We are so proud and grateful that Cat supported this worthy community cause. Cat Whitehill is truly a role model and an inspiration on the field and in this community!
