Brian Ching

BIOGRAPHY

Brian Ching was born in Haleiwa, Hawaii. A top high school soccer player, he attended Gonzaga University where he studied accounting and became the school’s all-time assists and points leader. In 2001 Ching was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy as the 16th pick in the MLS SuperDraft. After being released by the Galaxy following his first season, Ching played for the A-League Seattle Sounders, and eventually made his way back into the MLS with the San Jose Earthquakes, where he won the 2004 MLS Comeback Player of the Year, as he co-led the league in goals scored. In 2006 the Earthquakes became the Dynamo when they moved to Houston, where Ching would score the game winning penalty kick to notch an MLS Championship for the club. Brian is currently playing with Houston and is one of the top forwards in the league. As a member of the U.S. National team he is the first Hawaiian born player to represent the U.S. in international play.
