Andrea Jaeger

BIOGRAPHY

In the 1980s, Andrea Jaeger was a tennis phenomenon--she turned pro at the age of 14 and was the #2 ranked female tennis player in the world. Despite her success on the courts, she knew that tennis was merely the platform to her calling in life: to help children with cancer and life altering conditions.

When a shoulder injury ended her career on the professional tennis circuit, Andrea Jaeger started a foundation for children with cancer, now called Little Star Foundation. Since 1990, the foundation has brought long term care and lifetime opportunities to children with cancer and children in need worldwide.

Thousands of children have benefited from the foundation all at no cost to the families. These specialized programs include medical, financial, educational and hospice support, therapeutic camp sessions, in hospital activities, ambassadorship, employment and scholarship opportunities, and family retreats.

For her work, Andrea was inducted into the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame in May, 2001.
